According to a recent Catalyst study, “senior-level women gave their top three reasons for which they would leave their current organization, with 42% citing increased compensation, 35% to accept the opportunity to develop new skills or competencies, and 33% to pursue greater advancement opportunities. High-level men gave the same reasons, with 51% citing increased compensation, 32% to accept the opportunity to develop new skills or competencies, and 30% to pursue greater advancement opportunities.”

Sue Ela, CEO of Medical Companion LLC and former COO of Aurora Health Care, discusses talent retention. She believes that when companies invest in their employee’s professional development, it not only sends a positive message internally but also externally to the community.
